Do You Ever Wish You Had 3 Arms?
I’m not a fan of multitasking. But every once in awhile, it would sure be great to have three hands. Like in the OR, so I wouldn’t have to do any pesky ‘asking for things’. Or when I want to empty the car in one trip because it’s raining. Or when I’m trying to corral a dog and 2 kids with ice cream cones, my big-ass purse, and open a door.
A third hand would be nice, then.
But where would you put it? Extending out of the middle of your chest? Under one of your arms? Retractable? I pondered this way more than I should have. And then one day, when I was in a boutique hotel lobby in Charleston, there was a painting of a woman with 3 hands. It was beautiful and inspiring, because the artist figured it out. The third hand comes off the elbow! Voila!
A teen boy just invented a prosthetic arm that works on thoughts. It doesn’t even have to be directly attached to the body. Maybe one day, we can just buy a third hand on Amazon and keep it in the car until it’s needed.
Until that day, I keep trying to find the most efficient, easy way to do things. My book, Doctoring Your LIfe, is a collection of some of these things. Check it out at the link on my website. And if you know the painter of this painting, let me know so I can credit you properly!
